“Grate Works” on Prestigious Florida Web Site

“Metropolitan Cover ” is the first of the fifteen images of my sculptures and prints featured in my portfolio.  The web site, de-signed by Glenn Heino, displays members’ art from The Florida Chapter of The National Association of Women Artists.

The National Association of Women Artists, founded in 1989, is the oldest professional women’s fine arts organization in the United States. Some notable members include Mary Cassett, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, Louise Nevelson and Alice Neel.

On January 6, 1995, the first and only chapter of NAWA was founded in Florida. Their website:  http://nawafl.com/artists.php presents an exciting array of art in various media. Just click on any artist to be transported to the dynamic portfolio page of that member.
At the bottom of each artist’s portfolio page is a link to her biography and her web site.  I enjoyed the diversity of talent on the web site. A few that appealed to my circular sense are show below:

Helene Kleiner’s “Clock Hands” is an engaging large work 49″ x 46″ with acrylic and sculptural elements. On closer observation, around the clockface of roman numerals, gloves were incorportated, some hanging by a mere thread.  “Clock Hands,” what  a perfect title!

Sharon Thieman’s Temari Balls are a whole cultural adventure. I have been corresponding with my Japanese Pen Pal, MasaYuki Shiga, for over twenty-four years, so I truly enjoy enhancing my cultural knowledge of Japan.

Be sure to peruse of all the art work at www.nawafl.com  and website links to the individual artists.  Post your favorites in your comments to this blog and tell why you chose them.

Bobbi Thanks!
You should be happy to be on this beautiful Web Site.
It’s such a pleasure to look at all the art work so well
organized and easy to navigate.
My favorite piece is “Dept Public Works” a collagraph
with beautiful soft colors and that touch of green.
Great “grate” piece!

Hi Bobbi,

Well I think that this is wonderful for you!!! What a nice site this is.
I like the art that you have on this site.

I had another person here who admired your
Port Washington that is on loan here.
He said that he would like it in his house..
He just cannot afford it right now..
So many people ask about it and
I always tell them that it is for sale.
I wish that I could sell it for you.
Love,
Marilyn

Bobbi,

I’m happy that Bobbi Miller forwarded information on your website and pictures of some of your colorful and exciting manhole covers. Elaine and I enjoyed them this morning. She does some occasional painting herself, and I knew she would appreciate them — as she did.

Regards to Al. I cherish loads of good memories of my years at Smithtown High School West under his administrative leadership.

Best wishes to both of you for a future full of blessings and joys.

CONGRATULATIONS, BOBBI!

Hello Bobbi,

Beautiful work!

Thanks for sharing.

You should consider bringing in
some thing to display at the restaurant.
We have a “Wall of the Arts” from local artists.
You can even set a price to sell.
Also, if you want to have a night for you,
you can help us promote the night and present
some of your work as well as introduce yourself to the community.

Stop in to visit and check us out!

Have a GREAT day!

Hi Bobbi,
Thank you for your kind words about my photography being creative.

I went to your website – I love your work – so creative, unique!
I’ve photographed lots of manhole covers and things embedded in sidewalks, but never done anything with them. But my photos wouldn’t compare to your sculptures.

I went to art school years ago and the uniqueness of each artist’s view of the same things fascinates me.

Hello Bobbi,

I visited your website and blog and found your work
to be very good. I have seen your work before, if my
memory serves me well at the Osceola Center for the Arts.
Thank you for sharing your work with me. I don’t have
physical gallery space to display artists artwork,
but I am always finding out about artists opportunities
in Florida, so if I learn of an event or gallery that might
be suitable for your type of work, I will surely let you know.
I wish you continued success in your career.

Be blessed,

Hello Bobbi,

I didn’t know you were so very talented and involved with
The National Association Of Women Artists. God Bless You.

Every time we met in the pool we always compared our names,
but not once did you mention your success with art.

Good Luck.
