"The Sidewalk was Paved in Gold"The Sidewalk Was Paved in Gold

Bobbi Mastrangelo’s Fiber Art sculpture relief  “The Side Walk Was  Paved in Gold” was featured in The January – February 2010 Issue of Fiber Arts Magazine.  Bobbi felt honored to have her work chosen as the representative piece for “Make an Impression,” (the art of combining hand made paper and print).

The Juried Members’ Exhibition of creations by  Friends of  Dard  Hunter Papermakers was displayed at the Neely Gallery at Georgia Tech’s Library in Atlanta.

“Passion for Paper,” by Sally Hunter, high-lighted the special events of FDH’ s Annual meeting which convened in  Atlanta at The Robert C. Williams Paper Museum Oct 14-18, 2009.

More information about the exhibit and the “Sidewalk Was Paved in Gold'” can be found on an earlier blog:

  1. Hi Bobbi,
It was great to see your work in Fiber Arts Magazine! (The Sidewalk Was Paved in Gold). I did not see the show at the Neely Gallery.
I am trying to move away from the Plexiglas work that I have always done. I have done a few mixed media and paper collages. I do love fiber so I read the magazines but so far I have not done any.
    All the best,

  2. Bobbi,
I went to your blog and see that you are also very busy. I’ve said it before but I just love your art!
Some day I would like to buy a piece-
when we have our sea dome built.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop
and best of luck to you always!

  3. Hi Bobbi ,
Great to read about all you are doing. I’m proud to be your friend and see how you have gone on with your work. Your piece still hangs in my house, the lovely pink flower.
I’m still painting on china and doing some water colors and making some jewelry.
I enjoy reading about your work.

  5. Hi Bobbi,

Wow — what a gorgeous piece — congratulations on being featured in Fiber Arts Magazine! I was so touched not only by the visual beauty of the sculpture, but also by title “The Sidewalk Was Paved in Gold,” which evokes that sense of possibility, hope and excitement in all immigrants who have come here throughout time (including my grandparents).
And also for preserving the fading history of those stones and grates that are often being replaced these days.
Your work is so exciting and emotional…you are such an inspiration to me…
    Brava!

    Best wishes,
    Tina

  6. Congratulations, Bobbi!
I read about you in last month’s Reflections, too.
    You are famous!!
