Bobbi Mastrangelo Featured in October Manhole Madness

Michelle contacted me in September 2016, for permission to be included in her upcoming “October Manhole Madness” Blog Project. Would I say OK? Are you kidding? Her topic is a Manhole Artist’s Dream. I wondered how she would cover the topic for a total of 31 days! Well, I have been amazed and dazed by the variety and the artistry in all of her presentations.

On October 23, 2016 Michelle Ward introduced me on her blog:”Cover Girl”Bobbi Mastrangelo: http://michelleward.typepad.com/michelleward/2016/10/cover-girl-bobbi-mastrangelo.html.She covered many aspects of my art world and artistry including: art post cards, sculpture relief works and how they are created, embossed metal pieces, giclee prints and fiber art.

Here is a quote from Michelle Ward’s Blog: “Bobbi Mastrangelo is a mixed media artist like us – creating with several mediums in many sizes. Bobbi makes one-of-a-kind sculptures, with a long list of distinguished collectors, and she creates affordable prints and reliefs too. Incorporating paper casting, printmaking, sculpture, and paint – she is inventive, creative, and an environmental activist.

Her career began as an elementary school teacher, but she eventually found her way to art-making and has been at it for thirty-seven years. Bobbi’s site is very extensive and there is a lot to see. Visit her site and her blog at www.BobbiMastrangelo.com.”

PS  Michelle Ward invites you to visit the whole month of October Manhole Madness. She and all the artists presented would welcome your comments. You just may catch the bug and be “Mad about Manhole Covers” in all forms!

  1. Hello Bobbi.

I just came across your site tonight. I can’t believe I haven’t found your sooner!
I’m a huge manhole fan and have decided to launch a blog series next month
featuring something about manhole covers every day.

I’ve seen some of your video interviews and I’m just getting familiar with your art. I’d love to be able to feature you and link to your site. If there is anything specific you would like me to mention I’d be happy to do it.
I hope you find this acceptable to be included in my series.
    Thanks in advance.
    cheers, Michelle Ward

  2. Bobbi, thanks so much for responding so enthusiastically about being included in my blog series. As soon as I found you I knew I would like you – you had me at “Grate Works”. The title made me think you were winking – and now that I know you better I am sure you were, as you probably do with everyone you meet.

It has been such a pleasure to get to know you this month and I am so excited to finally get your feature posted. You’ve been a wonderful cheerleader and resource. It’s so cool to have found someone that makes art the way you do, and shares the process and the stories behind each piece to make the experience even richer.

So fun to see this photo of you with your piece.
You suggested we reconvene Manhole Madness Month again in 2017….after planning 31 days this year it is clear we have so much more to “cover”.
    You’re the best! xoxo

  3. Dear Bobbi,
Enclosed is a self-addressed stamped envelope for the four post cards you offered on Michelle Ward’s Wonderful Blog: “October Manhole Madness.”

Your collection of manhole covers and other street art and what you have done with it is spectacular.

I loved it so much I have sent you a colorful bookmark created with alcohol on Yupo.

I love “When The People Care.” The torn top of the cover appeals to me.
    You are amazing.

  5. Dear Bobbi,
I really like Michelle Ward’s blog. So many times she talks about things I have an interest in or something I know about. I would love to take a class from her. Her training in architecture makes her work different from most. And I met you

I did read about your sister and the rest of your siblings too. What a lovely glimpse of what has to be a wonderful relationship with them all.
    Regards,
    Janet T Lee
